The Dark Side

There is a dark side to online earning no one is speaking about.

I will speak about one of them today!

Did I write in my previous mail that you might be richer than me right now? I mean it! the cameras and videos you see online hide a lot of things!

If you haven’t read the previous mail, I think you should go and check it out because it has a lot of juicy details.

Back to my story…

I was working at a job I loved but I couldn’t cope because the environment wasn’t right for me.

Going to work daily had me worried.

I dreaded Mondays because of this.

It wasn’t because I didn’t enjoy what I was doing, I did, but the environment wasn’t right for me!

That was when I decided to take learning a skill seriously.

But nobody warned me about what I experienced later, I had to learn it the hard way

Like everyone does, I picked up writing. I got good at it!

Earning through Fiverr wasn’t as easy as I thought because I was running a Nigerian account.

I went further to learn Whiteboard Animation, that was where I had my first breakthrough!

Getting my first client on Fiverr was tough!

I had to charge my service at a very ridiculous price before I could meet someone to take a chance on me.

It was a nightmare. People told me breaking into freelancing was easy, but it wasn’t especially as a NIGERIAN.

I was resolute to make it work! I tried my best and did all I could to ensure my account wasn’t de-ranked after getting some traction. I did what most freelancers do, I got reviews to keep the account alive. 

The mistake I made as a beginner was picking up skills that were OVERSATURATED. The second mistake was not carrying out proper research before breaking into FREELANCING.

I became really anxious. I wanted to leave my job and really wanted my account to work. So, I started pumping the little money I was earning into it to keep it alive.

It took me 6 months to discover I made serious mistakes from the beginning. I almost died trying to make a sick wheel work through ridiculous sacrifices and financial deprivation. 

I am still learning new skills, especially skills in high demand. So, if you are reading this, you are not alone in this journey, we are learning together!
